Nancy and her husband, Steve Sayre, moved to the Village in 2012, returning to the DC area after many years in Boston. Their son, Gordon, is a Foreign Service Officer for the Department of State, currently posted in Caracas.

Nancy practiced law for 20 years both in private practice and in the public sector. She was a Senior Litigation Partner at the Boston law firm of Nutter, McClennen and Fish serving in management roles including Co-Chairperson of the Securities and Accounting Litigation Practice Group, Hiring Partner, and Chair of the Legal Personnel Committee. She later joined one of her clients, a life sciences company, as General Counsel, Vice President of Business Development. Since 1990, Nancy has been a commercial and financial arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association and FINRA.

Nancy volunteers as a narrator and editor recording books for the blind with Washington Volunteer Readers for the Blind. She is on the Board of Compass Pro Bono in Washington, DC serving on the governance and development committees, and is a member of the University of Pennsylvania Law School Dean’s Council for Penn Law Women.

Nancy enjoys reading, travel, the American West, and long walks in the Village with their English Cocker Spaniel, Ivy.
