Larissa Johnson, from the MD Dept. of Environmental Protection, and Mike Tidwell, CEO of the Chesapeake Climate Action Network, will speak to us about green options for household energy needs (including renewable energy offsets) and programs in Montgomery County to promote energy efficiency and cost savings to households. Residents will learn about pending legislation in MD to raise Maryland’s renewable energy standard to 50% by 2030 and programs designed to help meet this goal, including Community Solar, an opportunity for households to buy into offsite solar energy production to access the benefits of going solar. This is a popular movement around the country and a growing part of the green energy solution.
