Emergency Repair Work in Chevy Chase Circle to Occur Overnight, March 21

DC Water is scheduled to perform emergency work to replace defective valves along water mains located in the roadway area on the east side of Chevy Chase Circle. This work will be performed on Tuesday, March 21 beginning at 10:30 p.m. The work will take approximately 8 hours to complete. Below is a GIS map showing the locations of the valves scheduled for replacement.  Lane closures should be expected, and drivers are encouraged to avoid the area.  This work will not impact water service on the Maryland side of the Circle.

County Police Operation: Etch and Catch- Catalytic Converter Etching Launch Event, Saturday, March 25 and Sunday, March 26 (pre-registration required)

Catalytic converter theft has become a serious issue in our region, including here in the Village. To help combat this theft trend, the Montgomery County Department of Police is partnering with local dealerships and mechanics to provide FREE catalytic converter etching and painting to Montgomery County residents. 

This chemically etched identification number will be retained in the county police database and a national database in case of theft. The bright painting and window cling decal will be a deterrent to would-be thieves and a notification to those considering purchasing these stolen converters that this is now traceable.
