Notice of Public Hearing & Possible Board Action

Resolution Calling for Congress and the National Park Service 
to Remove the Plaque and Inscription from the
Fountain in Chevy Chase Circle 

and Removal of the Memorial Dedication Honoring Francis G. Newlands
Monday, September 14, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. (virtual)


The Chevy Chase Village Board of Managers will hold a Public Hearing on Resolution No. 09-01-20 urging the National Park Service, United States Department of the Interior, to remove a plaque and inscription honoring Francis G. Newlands from the fountain within Chevy Chase Circle and calling for an Act of the Congress of the United States to remove the name of, and memorial dedication to, Francis G. Newlands from the fountain within Chevy Chase Circle.

Census 2020: Response Deadline Moved up to September 30


The US Census Bureau has moved up the self-response deadline for the 2020 Census to September 30. That means that the less than 15% of Village households that have not yet responded have less than 50 days to respond.  Take 10 minutes and complete your 2020 Census today!

COVID-19 Testing

Montgomery County Discontinues its Testing Sites;
Information Regarding Alternate Facilities


On Thursday, August 13, Montgomery County announced that it has temporarily discontinued its COVID-19 testing sites due to concerns with its vendor’s testing and lab process.  Alternate privately-managed facilities are available throughout the county and state.

The Farmers Market at Taylor St. and Brookville Rd. in Section 3 is open with ample parking at La Ferme restaurant.  The market features only organic products sold in a COVID-compliant manner. Patrons must wear a mask and bring their own bag and pay by credit/debit card.

The market is open on Saturdays from 8-9 a.m. for seniors and other vulnerable individuals and opens for all patrons at 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (rain or shine). Neighbors visiting the market are encouraged to bring cash or a check for a food donation drive benefiting the Capital Area Food Bank.
