Alarm Permits

The Village Alarms Ordinance requires any homeowner with an audible alarm system to register the system with the Village. All audible alarm systems installed after June 1, 1984, must have an automatic shut-off within 30 minutes of being activated and all audible alarm systems installed after October 1, 2014, are not permitted to operate exterior alarm sound equipment.

Although Village residents are not required to register their alarm systems with Montgomery County, alarm companies must be registered with Montgomery County or the County's Emergency Communications Center (ECC) will not accept calls from the respective alarm companies and will not dispatch either Village or Montgomery County Police Officers to the call.
